Narrative

"Dance is a beautiful way to express an abstract concept but I feel that many times the full meaning is lost in translation, making dance films inaccessible to most viewers. What words can’t express dance can but to fully understand the story we need context and that in these films is provided by the characters telling us their story in their own words. The dance itself is then an abstract interpretation of a moment in their narrative. This way we combine dance and documentary into a moving film.

MOVE is a series of short films that explores today's relevant themes, blending the lines between documentary and dance films. In episode 1 we are introduced to Awet, a refugee from Eritrea who seeks purpose in his new country while he waits for his asylum to be processed.
